I loved the quote by Celerie Kemble in ' Swap Out Dull Shades' from the May issue of InStyle Magazine, where she says that tired old ivory and white shade can look a lot like "unbrushed teeth." It was refreshing to see some fashionable and affordable lampshades featured. Here are some more options available through Target below-

KARIM RASHID: QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY HUMAN MEDIA LAB

An invite landed in my inbox recently for the grand opening of the first ever boutique Human Media Lab located on the campus of Canada's own Queen's University. The design was a collaboration between Dr.Roel Vertegaal a professor at Queen's and Karim Rashid one of the most well known industrial designers in the world. The lab was created to encourage students to be interactive with their workplace environment, instead of constrained by the drab flat surfaces of traditional cubicles,etc. Dr.Vertegaal says "we believe it is important to surround graduate students with great, inspirational room design. I have fun scouring the fleamarkets and reuse stores for inexpensive pieces. And with a little paint, they can be easily transformed and given a new life. I chose the simplicity of white for the ones below- so fresh!
